Skaz / About

A small team, one stubborn idea.

Interactive stories have been possible for decades — and still, making one means either learning to code or fighting a tool that turns into spaghetti past thirty scenes. Skaz exists so that the person with the story doesn't have to be the person with the engineering degree.

I build Skaz. That means I write the editor, answer the support email, and read every bug report myself — if you write to us, you are writing to me.

Skaz started because branching stories are a great way to teach and a great way to entertain, and every existing route to making one was blocked by something that had nothing to do with storytelling. The canvas, the AI co-writer, the session view — all of it exists to keep you writing instead of wiring.

We are small and independent. No ads, no data brokering, no growth team inventing dark patterns. The business model is boring on purpose: authors pay for a plan, and that is the whole of it.

What we commit to

Readers stay anonymous

Anyone can play a published story without an account, an email or a name. That is the default, and it is what classrooms should use — students play from a link and we learn nothing about them.

Your stories stay yours

We claim no ownership of what you write, we never sell it, and we do not use it to train AI models. We host it so it can be played — that is the entire licence you give us.

No ads, ever

No advertising, no trackers beyond privacy-respecting product analytics, no screen recording. Read the privacy policy — it is written to be understood, not to hide things.

Come build something strange.
